TCC Verizon will be giving away backpacks during its 10th annual School Rocks Backpack Giveaway from 1 to 4 p.m. July 31.

Participating TCC stores around the country, including the Seymour store at 1327 E. Tipton St., will be hosting events to give away free backpacks for local students. The backpacks are available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last and limited to one backpack per child.

Along with getting a backpack filled with school supplies, students can be entered into a sweepstakes where they could win a $10,000 college scholarship through the School Rocks Backpack Giveaway’s Big Impact. Children in kindergarten through 12th grade are eligible for entry and can be registered at their local stores during the giveaway event. Five scholarships in total will be awarded to randomly selected winners.
