Frank Xsavier Ruane AKA Michael Steven Wooldrige, age 78, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at his residence. He was born November 26, 1943 at Schneck Medical Hospital, in Seymour, Indiana, to the late Sarah Catherine Wooldridge.

Frank will forever be remembered as an honest, hard working, busy man that loved life and had a wonderful sense of humor. He loved Seymour and if you knew him, you knew that he was an “Ambassador” for the city. He was a wonderful provider for his family and had a heart for the well being of others.

He attended Surprise Elementary, Cortland Elementary, Junior High and High School and graduated from Seymour High School in 1962. He also attended several training courses for employers, graduated from California State Contractor School and attended Riverside Community College.

Frank married Sandra Ferne Wright on February 27, 1962 and together they raised five children. In 1970, they relocated to Jurupa Valley, California.

Frank held many Elected Positions in Indiana and California, as Director of West Riverside Parks and Recreation District, Trustee of Jurupa Unified School District, and Precinct Committee Men several times Frank received many community High Honors including 1993 JURUPA CITIZEN OF THE YEAR , 1995 JURUPA UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT HERO, ONE OF ONLY THREE LIFE TIME MEMBERS OF LITTLE LEAGUE, 1999-2000 LION OF THE YEAR *SEYMOUR, INDIANA, 2002-2003 PRESIDENT OF SEYMOUR NOON LIONS, 2003- 2004 LIONS ZONE CHAIRMAN, 2004-2005 LIONS REGION CHAIRMAN and Served as President of Chamber of Commerce, Treasurer of Businessmen’s Association, Rodeo Chair, President of Little League Baseball, Area Director of Little League Softball, Military Affairs committee (March Air Force Base ), Financial Officer for Post 500 American Legion (SAL).

Frank has been a Lion since 1981 and has served his Lions Clubs as: President of Jurupa District Lions Club 2 times (California), President of Seymour Noon Lions Club 1 time, Vice President 3 times, Secretary 4 times, Director many times, Tail Twister, chaired many Fundraising Projects, Served as Coordinator of Special Olympics Basketball Tournament, Jackson County Coordinator for Vision Screening, Lion of the Year 2 times and KidSight Chair.

He has served his Sub-District as: District Public Relations Chair, Zone Chair 6 times, Region Chair, Vice District Governor, District Governor, Tail Twister/Vision Screening Chair, Chair of Long Range Planning Committee, Organized 3 new Lions Clubs, Assisted in organizing 7 new Lions Clubs, Chaired Special Committee to evaluate and update the District E1 , Constitution & By Laws, Served as District Retention Chair Now Member of GMT, District Parliamentarian, Chair of KidSight, Co-Chair of District Budget Committee.

His involvement with Lions Of Indiana (Multiple District State Organization ) includes PDG Frank is a 2 Jewel Progressive W.P Woods Fellow, He is a 100% Governor for 2006-2007 year, Served as Liaison for State Campus Clubs, Extension, ISBVI, Leadership Development, Lions Quest, Membership, & Retention, Trustee of ISBVI, Served 2 years as Chair of Indiana School For The Blind & Visually Impaired State Project, Served on Long Range Planning Committee, Chair of State Convention Hospitality Suite 2011, Contributor to Hoosier Lion, Served on State Budget Committee, Presenter at Mid Winter Conference multiple times, Participated in the campaigns of State & International Lion Officers, Served as State Parliamentarian Chair, Vision Screening State

Committee, Selected as the 9th Indiana Distinguished Lion.

As apart of Lions Club International He is a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow, He has received 3 Presidential Certificates, He has received 2 Presidential Leadership Medals, He received a 100% Governor’s Medal for 2006-2007, and he is a Ross Ranger.

Not only did Frank serve his community in this way, his employment history in impressive. He has worked at Standard Oil of Indiana, Aamco Chemical Company, Rose Acre Farms, Arvin’s, KingCo, GE Appliance Park, Secel Test Dairy, Louisville Linen, State of Indiana for Governor Whitcomb, Desert Hand Laundry, Creative Clean Sweep Residential Services, Created Angels Engines selling Japanese Engines, Manager of Jurupa Area Park and Recreation District, Manager of Jurupa Committee local Development Corporation, Manager Club Metro, Worlds Largest Night Club, Employee of US Congress- Special Assistant to Ken Calvert, Ruddick’s Garage corporation- Business Manager, Peak Outdoor Advertising, Bowman Ford, Country Chevrolet, and Darlage Ford, Owner of Ambassador Limousine Service.

Frank was a member at Cornerstone Community Church. Frank is survived by his sons Frank (Becky) Ruane of Seymour, Mark Allen (Kathy) Ruane of Seymour and Greggory Scott (Kimberly) Ruane of Kokomo, Indiana.

Thomasine Gruber and Brother-In-Law Richard Lee Wooldridge, Brother-In-Law Michael Dale Wright (Mary Beth) of Seymour, Sherry Amy of Tampa, Florida, 9 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Ferne Ruane, his Mother, one daughter Shelly Dawn Ruane and son Michael Steven Ruane, his father-in-law Wilson Myers Wright, mother-in-law Fern Louise Fitch Wright, sister-in-law Connie Jo Redford of Hope, Indiana and his sister-in-law Susan Kay Wright.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 7:00 pm on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at Cornerstone Community Church in Seymour, Indiana. Funeral Services will begin at 7:00 PM with Rev. Becky Ruane officiating.
