Helen Catherine Kellermeier, of Brownstown, passed away peacefully on the early morning of July 7, 2022, at Hoosier Christian Village. She was 96 years old.

Helen entered this life in Seymour, Indiana on July 24, 1925. She was the sixth of seven children born to the loving parents of Henry and Clara K. (Moenning) Darlage. On November 2, 1947, she was united in marriage to Arthur J. Kellermeier at St. John’s Lutheran Church Sauers. From this union of over 40 years, they were blessed with two sons, Gary and Leroy, and a daughter Sharon. Arthur preceded Helen on October 26, 1988.

Helen was a devoted wife, loving mother, Grandma, and Great-Grandma. She loved working in her garden and playing a good game of Euchre.

She was a devoted member of St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. Helen served as a Ladies Aid at St. Peter’s and served as a volunteer at Schneck Medical Center. She worked as a seamstress at the Reliance Shirt Factory, and then was a clerk for Hammer’s Variety Store in Brownstown, and later at Stuckwisch Appliances of Brownstown.

Surviving to cherish her memories, her children, Gary Kellermeier and his wife Beth of Brownstown, and Sharon Hahne and her husband Michael of Raleigh, NC, four grandchildren, Zachary Kellermeier and his wife Sarah, Jared Kellermeier and his wife Jessica, Kimberly Albert and her husband Allen, and Lisa Duke and her husband Chris, ten great-grandchildren, Andrew, Sidney, and Madelynn Kellermeier, Owen and Cooper Kellermeier, Madison and Ashlyn Albert, and Payton, Savannah and Harper Duke, and a sister Mildred Tuelker.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, infant son Leroy J. Kellermeier, three brothers, Lawrence Darlage, Eldor Darlage, and Arthur Darlage, and two sisters Selma Wischemeier and Esther Darlage.

Funeral Service will be conducted at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church on Monday July 11, 2022, at 11:00 am with Pastor Martin Keller officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery.

Friends may call from 3:00 until 7:00 pm on Sunday July 10, 2022, at Zabel Funeral Home and on Monday after 10:00 am at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church until time of the service.

Memorials may be written in Helen’s name to St. Peter’s Building fund or to Lutheran Central School or the American Heart Association.
