Firefighters conducting freewill meal, firetruck raffle

The Redding Township Volunteer Fire Department will have a fundraiser Saturday at Rockford United Methodist Church, 1934 N. Ewing St.

A freewill donation cookout for anyone in the community will go from 4 to 6 p.m. The menu will consist of pork burgers, hot dogs and drinks.

All proceeds will go to the fire department to help with purchases throughout the year.

Also, Eric Hess with Tropical Sno will be onsite with his snow cone truck. Snow cones will be available for purchase for $5.

Bounce houses for kids to play on will be set up, and all of the department’s firetrucks will be present for a touch-a-truck. People are invited to check out the equipment and take pictures.

A firetruck raffle will be drawn at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are still available to purchase for $10. Only 600 tickets will be sold. Contact any fire department member or send a message via

The truck is a 1984 Pierce Custom four-man cab with a 1,000-gallon water tank and a 1,250 gpm pump.
