SEYMOUR, INDIANA

Arnol Steven Mays, 73, of Seymour, passed away at 1:40 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at his residence. He was born on October 14, 1948, in Indianapolis, the son of Kenneth & Betty (Brickert) Hatchett. He was raised in Westport.

He had retired from Cosco after 24 years of service. Arnol enjoyed hunting, fishing, collecting, and shooting guns.

He married Barbara Ann Carroll on October 27, 1967, in Columbus, and she survives. Other survivors include his daughters, Shannon Shuffitt of Seymour, and Lanaie Mays of Seymour; his sons, Junior (Karen) Mays of Columbus, Jordan Mays of Seymour, and Koletyn Mays of Seymour; his sisters, Sue (Dave) Lashley of Columbus and Kenna (Edward) Hawkins of Brown, County; his brother, Jeff (Janet) Mays of Florida; his 11 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Pamela Mays; brother, Kenneth Hatchett and 2 great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport with Pastor Justin Ackeret officiating. Burial will follow at the Westport Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m.
