0

Come and enjoy a daylong exploration of fiber arts and be a part of history being made as wool carding machines will be running June 25 at Beck’s Mill, 4433 S. Beck’s Mill Road, Salem.

Activities will begin at 10 a.m. and include sheep to shawl demonstrations, sheep shearing, spinning, weaving, natural wool dyeing, hand carding, knitting, crocheting and quilting. Attendees also will have an opportunity to learn a new skill by joining instructors Doris and John Pfaff in a drop spindle spinning class.

Also that day, Jim Smoak and other Indiana University musicians will perform, and Shady Patch will sell food.

Admission is by donation at the front gate. This event is sponsored by the Indiana University Center for Rural Engagement.
