Jackson County 4-H plans to hold Local Government SPARK Club sessions from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 29 and 30.

The June 29 session will be held in the former Jackson Circuit Court courtroom in the courthouse at 111 S. Main St., Brownstown. The June 30 session will be held at the Jackson County Visitor Center, 100 N. Broadway St., Seymour.

Participants will have the chance to learn about the election process and meet with local elected officials to learn about their roles. They also will be able to design their own election campaign strategies for a mock election.

The activity is open to all Jackson County youth in grades 6 through 12 regardless of their current involvement in Jackson County’s 4-H program.

Lunch will be provided both days, and registration must be completed by June 17.

Instructions for registration for non-4-H members are available at v2.4honline.com. There is a one-time $20 fee for non-4-H-members that can be paid while processing their enrollment.

4-H members may register for free by logging into their 4-H Online profile by visiting v2.4honline.com.

Contact the extension office at 812-358-6101 by Friday if your child needs special accommodations to participate or you have questions about the program.
