The Loyal Devoir Society of Central Christian Church in Seymour met May 24.

Vice President Barb Bentley called the meeting to order in the absence of Janice Brock, who was ill.

Since this was the group’s birthday month, members each put $1 in the box and told interesting remarks concerning their birthdays.

Paula Stafford gave devotions and closed with prayer.

The secretary’s report was read by Judy McDonald and was approved.

Treasurer Betty Guinn gave the balance for February and March. She read a thank-you note from Tyler Tolbert and family for gifts welcoming them as the church’s new pastor.

Cards and flowers chairwoman Grace Low didn’t send any cards or flowers.

Under old business, Retica Murphy and Joellen Robinson fixed lunches for the teachers at the middle school and sixth grade center. Bentley thanked everyone for donating cookies.

Bentley and her group served refreshments with a cake with strawberries and ice cream.

The next meeting will be June 28 with Lois Geuder and her group.

The meeting was closed with the Mizpah Benediction.
