Information Services Assistant and Teen Specialist Hillary Pacheco gave a report on the summer learning program when the Jackson County Public Library board of trustees met Monday at the Seymour Library.

The Oceans of Possibilities summer learning program is online at myjclibrary.readsquared.com and in the Seymour, Crothersville and Medora libraries and on the Discovery Bus through Aug. 1.

Pacheco also shared her experience in Leadership Jackson County this past year and discussed teen programs and services. Her LJC youth project is Volunteer Connections.

After Pacheco’s report, the board approved increasing salaries immediately for all staff by $1 to $3.50 per hour for a beginning pay of $15 per hour for new desk assistants.

The board also approved personnel changes, revisions to the personnel policy, an increase in salaries of 3% for 2023 budgetary purposes and after-hours teen programs on Oct. 14 in Crothersville and Oct. 28 in Seymour.

The next board meeting is at 4:30 p.m. June 20 at the Seymour Library, 303 W. Second St.
