A Seymour motorcyclist was injured in an early morning accident on Jonesville Road.

A Seymour man was injured when he lost control of his motorcycle after hitting a deer early Tuesday morning in the 11000 block of South Jonesville Road in Bartholomew County.

Officers with the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department were sent to the scene at 1:47 a.m. Thursday where fire department personnel were providing medical assistance to Richard Duran, 46.

Columbus Regional Health personnel arrived and continued medical care until StatFlight medics arrived.

Due to his injuries, Duran was transported to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. Hospital officials were unable to provide a condition report Thursday.
