The IHSAA released the baseball and softball sectional pairings on Sunday evening.

Starting with baseball, Seymour drew Bedford North Lawrence in the semifinal of the Jennings County sectional. The other semifinal will be determined from first-round games featuring Jennings County against Jeffersonville and New Albany against Floyd Central.

The Owls are currently 10-6 this season and defeated BNL 11-6 in eight innings earlier this season.

For Brownstown Central, the Braves are matched up against Silver Creek at Madison. That game will take place on May 25 at 5:30 p.m., and the game following that will be Scottsburg against Charlestown. The other two first-round matchups in that sectional are North Harrison against Corydon Central and Salem against Madison. The winner of Brownstown/Silver Creek and Scottsburg/Charlestown will play on May 27 at 5:30 p.m.

The Braves are 9-7 this season and are scheduled to play Silver Creek in the regular season on May 16.

For Trinity Lutheran, the Cougars will take on host school Jac-Cen-Del in the semifinals. Rising Sun and Oldenburg Academy will play to advance to the other semifinal spot against Hauser.

The Cougars are currently 2-14 this season and are scheduled to play Jac-Cen-Del in the final game of the regular season on May 20.

For Crothersville, the Tigers drew New Washington in the first round of the sectional at Shawe Memorial. There are only four teams in the sectional, so the winner of that game will take on the winner of Shawe and West Washington in the sectional championship.

The Tigers have yet to win a game this season at 0-11 and lost to New Washington 20-7 on April 27.

For the three local softball teams, Seymour drew Floyd Central in the opening round at Floyd Central. Bedford North Lawrence will await the winner of the Owls and Highlanders, while Jennings County will await the winner of New Albany and Jeffersonville.

Seymour is currently 10-7 on the season and lost to the Highlanders last week 13-0.

For Brownstown, the Braves also drew Silver Creek in the first round at Corydon. That game will take place on May 23 at 5:30 p.m., followed by North Harrison and Corydon. The other side of the bracket features Scottsburg against Madison and Charlestown against Salem. The winner of Brownstown/Silver Creek will take on the winner of North Harrison/Corydon on May 25 at 5:30 p.m.

The Braves are 11-8 this season and will take on Silver Creek in the regular season on May 10.

For Trinity, the Cougars were matched up against Henryville at the Henryville sectional. The winner of that game will advance to the sectional championship to play the winner of Rock Creek Academy and New Washington.

The Cougars are currently 9-5 this season and beat Henryville 6-4 in the New Albany Invitational last Saturday.
