The Magic of Books Bookstore, 113 W. Second St., Seymour, is celebrating Independent Bookstore Day with special events from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today.

Two children’s book authors from Woodsong will be signing. Scott Davis will be signing copies of “The Adventures of Bob the Bat” from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Beth Nicholson will be signing copies of “Miss Peep” from 3 to 5 p.m.

Besides book signings, it is dollar day, and all books, excluding new ones, are just $1.

At 2 p.m., author Candra Kylar will be teaching a creative writing class, Creating Worlds, and signing copies of her books. The class is $5 per ticket.
