Library announces May programs

The Jackson County Public Library is offering programs for teens and adults in May.

In honor of Mental Health Month, pick up a take-and-make jocund journal at the Seymour Library between May 2 and 28 or at the Medora Library between May 3 and 26 while supplies last.

Adults are invited to make a Mother’s Day craft, geometric painting, at the Crothersville Library at 4:30 p.m. May 11. Registration is required by May 9 with a limit of eight participants.

Local historian Kevin Greene will lead a historic walking tour of the Seymour boulevards at 6 p.m. May 12. Participants will meet at The Brooklyn Pizza Co., 753 W. Second St., Seymour. Registration is required by May 10 with a limit of 12 participants.

Programs offered for teens ages 12 to 19 will be subject to county COVID-19 status.

Teens are invited to join the Teen Advisory Group, which will meet at 4 p.m. May 9 in the Seymour Teen Scene. Attendees should get an application to return before future meetings.

Gamers ages 13 to 18 are invited to join the JCPL Teen Discord server at 4 p.m. May 12 for Weeb Night.

Stop in the Seymour Teen Scene between 2 and 4 p.m. May 21 to play games on the PlayStation VR.

Teens are invited to play Elective Detective and try to solve a cold case in the Seymour Teen Scene at 3:30 p.m. May 23. Registration is required by May 21 and is limited to eight participants.

Seymour teens are invited to Scene Reading book discussion. The group will meet at 4 p.m. May 24 to discuss “A Song Below Water” by Bethany Morrow.
