City presenting Arbor Day tree program

The Seymour Parks and Recreation Department and Seymour Water Pollution Control will present an Arbor Day tree program at 4 p.m. April 27 at Girls Inc. of Jackson County, 956 N. O’Brien St., Seymour.

Learn about the history of Arbor Day and the basics of planting trees. Everyone who attends will receive a free tree to plant.

This year, Arbor Day is April 29.

Community supper set for Saturday in Houston

The Houston community supper will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the former Houston school.

It will be a pitch-in meal, so attendees are asked to bring a covered dish.
