A Seymour man was arrested early Monday morning after police received a complaint about someone ramming a vehicle and firing a gun, police said.

George Bradley Simmons, 45, faces preliminary charges of criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon and intimidation, both Level 5 felonies; criminal recklessness with a vehicle, a Level 6 felony; and leaving the scene of a property damage accident, a Class A misdemeanor.

According to a news release from Seymour Police Department Lt. C.J. Foster, Simmons’ arrest stems from a report police received at 2:01 a.m. from a man saying his vehicle had been rammed and a firearm had been pointed at him. The man also told police the man who rammed his vehicle had fired several shots.

Officers located and arrested Simmons and found the vehicle possibly used in the incident in Kimberly Mobile Home Park in the 300 block of South Airport Road on the city’s west side, Foster said.

The vehicle was towed to the Seymour Police Department and a Jackson Superior Court I search warrant was obtained so it could be searched. A Rohn .22-caliber revolver containing spent casings was found during the ensuing search, and the firearm was collected as evidence.

After an interview with Simmons, he admitted to firing the weapon but didn’t know many shots he fired, Foster said.

No one was hurt in the incident, Foster said.
