Kathryn I. “Katie” (Albertson) Keith, 100, of rural Crothersville, IN, passed away at 12:55 PM on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at Hoosier Christian Village in Brownstown, IN.
Katie was born on Friday, January 27, 1922, in Washington County, IN. She was the daughter of Phillip and Cora (Morgan) Albertson.
Katie was a 1940 Crothersville High School graduate.
On July 11, 1942, Katie married Lewis Allen Keith, who preceded her in death on November 29, 2002.
Katie was a hard worker. She worked at Excello Shirt Factory, Grote Industries Inc., and retired in 1956 after the birth of her last child, her son Ted. She also worked on the family farm all her life.
Katie was an active and generous member of Cana United Methodist Church. She took care of all the flowers at church and was known as the “flower lady”. She loved to spend time with her family. She was an excellent cook, avid reader, and talented seamstress. She made clothes for all her children.
Katie is survived by her 4 children, Tommy David (Pam) Keith of Crothersville, IN, Ted D. (Peggy) Keith of Seymour, IN, L. Allene (Wayne) Hougland of Seymour, IN, and Anita (Charlie) Collins of North Vernon, IN, 7 grandchildren, Bryan Hougland, Suzy Hougland, Jonella Salyers, Jennifer Laman, Kathie Rose, Troy David Keith, and Heather Keith, 21 great-grandchildren, Amanda Thayer, Lucas Hougland, Jayna Hougland, Jonah Salyers, Jaynie Salyers, Jobey Salyers, Judah Salyers, Josee Salyers, Charley Laman, Chase Laman, Drew Keith, Samantha Rose, David Rose, Taylor Keith, Haley Keith, Shelby Keith, Savanna Keith, Shay Ward, Macie Ward, Wyatt Ward, and Harlie Ward, 7 great-great-grandchildren, Hallie Steele, Jacob Thayer, Katherine Thayer, Conner McDonald, Riley McDonald, Emorie Clouse and Malorie Clouse.
Katie was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Allen Keith, 6 siblings, Lillian Cobbs, Tommie Graves, Dora Brown, Meg Martin, Harlan Albertson, and Infant Leslie Albertson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Monday, April 18, 2022, at Adams Family Funeral Home &Crematory in Crothersville, with burial to follow at Cana Cemetery.
Friends and family may visit from 11:00 AM until the funeral time Monday.
