Seymour Tri Kappa celebrates spring

The Seymour Gamma Phi chapter of Tri Kappa held its monthly business meeting April 5 at Heather VonDielingen’s home.

Despite the rainy day, the sun came out just in time as sisters drove through the country to VonDielingen’s house south of Seymour.

Members got the chance to “wine down” with a food and wine pairing event featuring a variety of wines, cheeses and other snacks. With such a great spread, VonDielingen is sure to be called on as a hostess in the future.

Melissa Westfall also helped with hostess duties. She brought some delicious double chocolate sugar cookies (among other things) that pair great with red wine, but let’s be honest, what doesn’t pair well with chocolate?

Fun and sisterhood were the focus, but there was discussion about plans for next year’s projects as well as more opportunities to grow and connect with one another.

In addition, there was a brief recap of the Tri Kappa Mad Dash 5K Run/Walk.

The sisters look forward to the last two meetings of the year, which will include choosing causes for their annual charitable donations, announcing this year’s scholarship winner and welcoming new sisters at initiation.
