Redding firefighters offering water hauls

The Redding Township Volunteer Fire Department is filling pools again this year.

Firefighters already have begun to do that, and the schedule is filling up quick, so give Chief Matt Roy a call at 812-528-1792 to schedule a pool fill.

The department also fills ponds, wells and drinking troughs for livestock.

“If you need water, we have it,” Roy said. “We are a volunteer department, and this is a fundraiser to help buy new equipment, send our members through training to better serve the community and pay for expenses. Any size pool and any type in any location, we have you covered.”

Medora announces monthly drive-thru food pantry

Medora Community School Corp. is hosting a free drive-thru food pantry event from 3:30 p.m. until the food is gone April 11.

People are encouraged to arrive early if possible, as the line begins forming hours in advance. The line will begin on Main Street on the north side of the school by the covered bridge.

Once the pantry starts, stay in your vehicle, and staff members will distribute one box of food per vehicle.
