Barbara A. “Barb” Rebber Hetrick, 79, of North Webster, IN passed away at 10:20 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at Goshen Hospital. She was born on January 21, 1943 in Seymour, IN to Albert &Enola (Burbrink) Rebber.

Barb grew up in Seymour and graduated from Seymour High School in 1961. She met her husband Jerry while attending Indiana University (Bloomington). They married on September 5, 1964. Barb graduated from IU in 1969. After living in the Chicago area and Michigan, she moved to the North Webster area, where she lived for the past 30 years. She was a wife, mother, and grandmother. Locally, most remember her as one of the founders and former Executive Director of the Senior Primelife Enrichment Center (S.P.E.C.) in North Webster, retiring after 17 years.

Barb’s faith was very important to her. She was a member of the Shepherd by the Lakes Lutheran Church in Syracuse. She truly loved flowers and antiques, enjoyed traveling, listening &talking to her grandson, IU basketball, and drinking Dr. Pepper. She was an avid reader and supporter of the North Webster Community Library.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Jerry Hetrick of North Webster, her daughter Jill (Kevin) Hartnett of Dove Canyon, CA, son Scott Hetrick of North Webster, grandson Sean Hartnett of Dove Canyon, CA, sister Marilyn Watkins of Omaha, NE, and brother Rolland (Dee) Rebber of Seymour, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Melissa Hetrick, sisters Dorothy “Dot” Luker &Maxine Hischke, and brother Charles Rebber.

Visitation will be from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 3, 2022, at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 &CR 500N, North Webster, IN and from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at Voss &Sons Funeral Home, 316 North Chestnut St., Seymour, IN. Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at Voss &Sons. A private family burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Seymour.
