SEYMOUR

Royene Nancy Vance, 75 of Seymour, Indiana passed away Monday, March 25, 2022 at Hoosier Christian Village in Brownstown. She was born August 8, 1946 in Seymour to Roy Vance, Jr., and Wilma Lillian Waldkoetter Vance. She was baptized and confirmed at Redeemer Lutheran Church.

Nancy graduated from Shields High School, class of 1965 and attended Sullivan Business College. She worked at Redeemer Lutheran Church as a church secretary. Later in life, she moved her membership to Zion Lutheran Church. She was lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary. She was also a member of Jackson County Rural Youth, where she served as secretary. Nancy loved to read. She enjoyed arranging flowers, doing all sorts of crafts and being outside.

She is preceded in death by her parents and aunts and uncles, Mary and Marvin Waldkoetter and Lorraine and Al Schwartz. Surviving to cherish her memory are her cousins, Marvina (John) Lewis of Seymour, Jerretta (Tom) Bullard of Seymour, Elizabeth (Paul) Sternberg of Anderson, IN and Barbara (Walter) Barger of Seymour as well as eleven Second cousins.

Friends may visit with Nancy’s family from 11:00 am until service time at 1 pm Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at the Burkholder Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes, 419 N. Chestnut Street, Seymour, Indiana. Pastor Bradley Akey will officiate. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran School at Burkholder Chapel.
