Melvin Reed Cross 74, of Seymour, IN passed away at Schneck Medical Center on Saturday March 26, 2022. He was born in 1947 to Anna Gilham Cross and the late Flemon Cross. In 1967 in Seymour he married Marlene Guy and she survives.

Melvin was a proud Army Veteran and served during the Vietnam War. He loved to tell jokes and had the best one-liners. He enjoyed, deer, rabbit, squirrel hunting, bass fishing, and loved his beagles. He also enjoyed playing softball and basketball and liked watching all sports.

He is survived by his wife, mother; children Jonathan Reed (Shannon) Cross, Charles Melvin (Andrea) Cross, and Jennifer Lynn Hoffman; grandchildren Mackenzie (Jordan) Herman, Andrew Cross, Hunter Cross, Clayton Gates, Matthew Gates (Haylie Mote); step grandchildren Gabriella (Camden) Johnson, Christopher Russell (Jacklyn Isreal), great grandchild Hunter Gates; step great grandchildren Oliver Russell and Jace Johnson, brother Roger Cross; sisters Marilyn Nowling, Brenda Cross, Charlene Brothers, and Donna (John) Clark.

He was preceded in death by his father, brothers David Cross, James Cross, Robert Cross, Ronnie Cross, and Danny Cross.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday March 29, 2022, at Voss and Sons Funeral Service from 4-8 pm and on Wednesday March 30, 2022, from 12-1pm.

Services will be held on Wednesday March 30, 2022, at Voss and Sons Funeral Service at 1pm with John Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
