Seymour High School is hosting a FAFSA completion event from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the cafeteria at the school, 1350 W. Second St., Seymour.

This is a free community event open to any high school or college student who needs help submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.

The first 20 minutes will be a “Finalizing Financial Aid” presentation, discussing the Student Aid Report to review FAFSA errors, the verification process, how to review state grant edit issues on the ScholarTrack portal, loan options and how to compare financial aid awards.

Experts also will be on hand to answer questions and help students correctly complete the FAFSA.

Students should bring a Chromebook, their FSA identification (create it ahead of time at fsaid.ed.gov), Social Security number, Alien Registration Number (if not a U.S. citizen), 2020 federal income tax returns, W-2s and other records of money earned and bank statements, records of investments and records of untaxed income (if applicable).

In most cases, students will need this information for both them and their parents.
