Charlane L. (McGee) Houston 79 of Franklin, IN passed away Wednesday March 9, 2022 at Hickory Creek at Franklin, IN. She was born September 7, 1942 in Northville, Michigan to William J. and Virginia (Roberts) McGee. She married Wayne B. Houston on March 3, 1962 in Northville, Michigan, he survives.

She was a graduate of Northville High School in Northville, Michigan.

Charlane had been the cafeteria manager at Edinburgh Community High School for fifteen years. She was a member of the Methodist Church, Columbus Model “A” Club and enjoyed crocheting and embroidery.

Survivors include her husband Wayne B. Houston of Franklin, IN, two sons Michael W. Houston (Karen) of Frederick, Maryland and Robert B. Houston of Franklin, IN, two grandchildren David Houston of Frederick, Maryland and Matthew Houston of Frederick, Maryland, three great grandchildren and one brother Michael McGee of Garden City, Michigan.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters Fay Landreth and Micki Sweet.

The Reverend Shan Rutherford will conduct a service on Monday March 14, 2022 at 10AM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com charlane-houston. Friends may call Sunday March 13, 2022 from 2PM until 5PM at the mortuary. Burial will be at Youngs Creek Cemetery in Franklin, IN.
