The identity of the man found dead in a vehicle Sunday on South Main Street in Brownstown has been confirmed to be 49-year-old Scipio resident Jason H. Noel.

Noel was found unresponsive in a vehicle at approximately 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Brownstown police officers and other emergency personnel arrived and attempted to provide medical aid, but Noel was pronounced deceased at the scene by an official with the Jackson County Coroner’s Office.

On Wednesday afternoon, an autopsy was performed to determine the cause of death. The results of the autopsy as well as toxicology results are still pending, but foul play is not suspected at this time.

Noel’s family has been notified.

The Indiana State Police have been assisted in this investigation by the Brownstown Police Department, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Jennings County Sheriff’s Office and Jackson County Coroner’s Office.
