Floyd Central wins Seymour Sectional

Floyd Central dominated Jeffersonville 77-35 Saturday night to easily win the Seymour Class 4A Sectional.

The Highlanders (20-4) outscored the Red Devils 14-2 in the second period to hold a 36-19 lead at the half.

The Highlanders had a balanced scoring attack with four players in double figures, led by Harritt Cole with 16 and Wesley Celichowski with 13.

Will Lovings-Watts topped the Red Devils (9-12) in scoring with 18 points.

Floyd Central, coached by Brownstown Central graduate Todd Sturgeon, will face Franklin in the second game of the Seymour Regional on Saturday. Franklin defeated Center Grove 54-45 in the finals of the Greenwood Sectional.

Edinburgh defeated West Washington 49-38 in the championship game of the Edinburgh Class A Sectional.

The Lancers (22-3) will play North Daviess in the Loogootee Regional on Saturday. North Daviess defeated Barr-Reeve 35-29 in the Loogootee Sectional finals.
