Dennis E. Craig, 67, of Columbus, passed away February 20, 2022, at Columbus Regional Hospital.

Dennis was born May 5, 1954, in Franklin, the son of Shirley E. and Ruby I. Smith Craig. He married Shana Ellison on August 15, 1986.

Dennis was previously employed as the General Manager of “The Alley Shoppe” in Nashville. He was an avid bowler, and enjoyed watching NASCAR. Dennis loved his family, and especially loved watching his grandson play football, and watching his granddaughters play softball.

He is survived by his wife Shana; his mother Ruby Smith of Shelbyville, Indiana; sons Shawn E. (Erin) Craig of Indianapolis, Dustin J. Craig of Columbus, and Josh S. Craig of Columbus; grandchildren Olivia M., Nadia A., and Myles H. Craig, Mackenzie and Elaina Carr; also surviving is a sister Sandra D. Van De Hauer of Shelbyville.

He was preceded in death by his father as well as a sister Linda D. Craig.

The funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 25, 2022, at the Jewell – Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor David Lee officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 24, 2022, and one hour prior to the service Friday. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
