The Jackson County Emergency Management Agency is sponsoring a session of the National Weather Service’s SKYWARN storm spotter training at 6 p.m. March 10 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 504 N. Walnut St., Seymour.

Admission is free, and no advance registration is necessary for the training, which typically takes a couple of hours.

The National Weather Services encourages anyone with an interest in public service to join the SKYWARN program. Volunteers include police and fire personnel, dispatchers, EMS workers, public utility workers and other concerned private citizens.
