The Seymour High School mixed chamber choir has advanced to the Indiana State School Music Association Vocal State Solo and Ensemble Contest on Feb. 19 at Perry Meridian High School in Indianapolis. Student-musicians from the Seymour High School choirs participated in the Indiana State School Music Association Vocal District Solo and Ensemble Festival on Feb. 12 at Floyd Central High School in Floyds Knobs.
Of the nine events from SHS in attendance, eight received a gold award, and one received a silver award.
Liza Stuckwisch, Angelina Ruvira Corya, the mixed chamber choir (20 members) and women’s chamber choir (16 members) have advanced to the ISSMA state event Feb. 19 at Perry Meridian High School in Indianapolis.
Kyle Karum is the director of choral music at SHS.
