BROWNSTOWN

Carolyn Sue (Graham) Scarlett, 73, of Brownstown, died unexpectedly on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at her home in Brownstown.

Carolyn was born on March 2, 1948, in Haleysburg, IN to the late Lotus Graham &Hassie Williams Graham. She attended Salem High School and received an Associate degree in Medical Billing &Coding from Ivy Tech. On December 24, 1966, she married Kenneth Michael “Mike” Scarlett and he preceded her in death on July 12, 2008.

Carolyn was a member of the Brownstown Nazarene Church. She worked as a Home Health Care Provider and formerly worked at Spartans/Dura, Noltings, and JayC Store. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and enjoyed cooking and providing meals for her family and friends.

Survivors include her children: Nancy Young of North Vernon, Michael (Roni Jo) Scarlett of Tampico, Cindy Curry of Seymour, and Leann (Brian) Sweeney of Brownstown; grandchildren: Adam (Kristy) Young, Joshua Young, Kristopher (Emily) Curry, Katie Jo (Cameron) Hensley, Braden (Kennedy) Scarlett, Mitchell (Jenna) Scarlett, Andrew Scarlett (Sophie Kreis), Levi Sweeney, and Brittany (David) Guthrie; great grandchildren: Jonathan Young, Alaina Young, Chase Young, Harlan Guthrie, Breckin Curry, Boone Scarlett, Findley Scarlett, and Colson Hensley.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers, 1 sister, and granddaughter, Grace Ann Scarlett.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Johnson Funeral Home, Vallonia with Tim Lichtley officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will take place at the Vallonia Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Grace Scarlett Memorial Fund.
