The Crothersville boys basketball team played at Dugger Union on Saturday night, but the Tigers fell short 70-53.

Preston West had a big night for Crothersville, draining five 3-pointers en route to his 23 points on the night to lead the Tigers.

Adam Turner scored 10 points, Zach Helt six, Damian Bowman five, and Devin Morgan and Beau Napier each scored two points.

The Tigers are now 2-16 on the season and will look to get back on track tonight when they play at Medora at 6 p.m. for junior varsity and 7:30 p.m. for varsity.

Crothersville defeated Medora earlier this season at home on Feb. 1 in a tight 54-48 game.

As for the Hornets, they also went on the road Saturday night to Madison Christian and suffered a 56-42 loss.

Medora was only trailing 13-11 at the end of the first quarter, but the second quarter was the big difference. Madison Christian won the second frame 19-10 to take an 11-point lead into halftime. The Hornets played them basically even in the second half, but those eight minutes before halftime were a big difference.

Shepard Earl scored 17 points to lead Medora on the night, followed by Eli Sturgill with 10 points, Braxton McCory eight, Isaiah Miller four and Dawson Cornett three.

The loss dropped Medora to 3-16 on the season, and they will hope to pick up that fourth win tonight at home against Crothersville.

Both teams played a competitive game back on Feb. 1, and Medora will hope having homecourt advantage tonight sways the tide toward them.
