Larry A. Goforth, age 84, of Norman, passed away on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Larry was a life-time member of Kurtz Church of the Nazarene, where he was involved with Sunday School and the church youth group.

Mr. Goforth worked at Cummins Engine Co. and Custom-Built Log Homes. He was a member of the United States Army from 1955 to 1959. Larry loved spending time with his family, woodworking, and fishing.

Born on May 1, 1937, in Elwood, he was the son of Lawrence and Mary Brewer Goforth, both of whom preceded him in death. On October 13, 1962, at Houston Christian Church, he married Judy Hayes and she survives in Norman.

Survivors also include one son, Brad (Sheila) Goforth of Lanesville; two daughters: Kim (Brad) Lockman of Brownstown, and Tracey (Jon) Davidson of Norman; three sisters: Joyce Barrett of Frankton, Marilyn Bond of Norman, and Norma Sanderson of Norman; 12 grandchildren: Brittany (Trent) Darlage, Bradi (Logan) Sutherland, Levi (Whitney) Goforth, Layton (Jessica) Goforth, Alex Goforth, Natalie (BJ) Hentrup, and Christopher Davidson; nine great-grandchildren: Madison Darlage, Tyson Darlage, Kasey Sutherland, Anna Sutherland, Isla Goforth, Dallas Goforth, Garrison Hentrup, Bratcher Hentrup, and Berkeley Hentrup; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Larry was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Chloe Davidson; two brothers: Bill Goforth and Jack Goforth; and one sister, Mary Jane Flemming.

Funeral services for Larry A. Goforth will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 7, 2022, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, with Pastor Floyd Fisher officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 7, 2022, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown.

Military honors will be presented by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled American Veterans 47, and Vietnam Vets 7.

Interment will be at Kurtz Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Kurtz Church of the Nazarene.
