It won’t be long before the days turn longer and warmer.

With spring right around the corner, planning for the annual Mayor’s Good Friday Prayer Breakfast has begun.

This event is a way for the community to come together to show appreciation for clergy, renew our faith and celebrate the beginning of spring, Seymour Mayor Matt Nicholson said.

A buffet breakfast will be served April 15 at The Pines Evergreen Room, 4289 N. U.S. 31, Seymour. Doors will open at 6:30 a.m. with the service beginning at 7 a.m.

There will be music, prayer and a Good Friday message.

“The prayer breakfast provides an opportunity for you to invite your pastor and church staff to attend as your guests to show your appreciation for their dedication and service throughout the year,” Nicholson said. “In the past, we have been blessed with pastors and staff members from many denominations from all over Jackson County.”

Registration forms are available at Seymour City Hall, 301 N. Chestnut St., or may be downloaded and printed from the city’s website, seymourin.org.

The cost is $11 per person. Reservations, including payment, must be turned in by April 7 to the Mayor’s Office, 301-309 N. Chestnut St., Seymour, IN 47274. Checks may be made payable to The Pines.

A limited number of seats are available to promote social distancing, and masks are encouraged.
