Phi Beta Psi Theta Omega chapter of Seymour is hosting a fundraising event that will support its national project of cancer research.

The Phi Beta Psi Cancer Dance will have the theme of “Tonight We Dance Under the Stars” and take place at 6 p.m. Feb. 5 at Pewter Hall, 850 W. Sweet St., Brownstown. The event will include a dinner and a dance in which local high school senior girls compete for the queen title.

The queen candidates are Madalyn Baurle, Morgan Branaman, Chloe Covert, Kamzi Gross, Hayley Harpe, Chloe Mellencamp and Lillie Wessel.

Collection containers have been placed by the candidates at various businesses in the county asking for a penny-a-vote donation. The queen will be announced at the dance. She will be the contestant who raises the most money through the collection containers as well as individual efforts to obtain donations from family, friends and businesses.

Anyone wishing to make a donation may contact any of the candidates or donate via Venmo @PhiBetaPsi-ThetaOmegaChapter. Be sure to list the candidate’s name in the “What’s it for” section.

Tickets are $75 per couple or $38 for an individual and must be purchased by Jan. 27 from any sorority member or by emailing [email protected]. Dinner, provided by Pewter Hall, is included in the cost of the ticket, and the dance will feature music by The Jackson Way.
