Jesse and Elsie Kovener were married Jan. 6, 1952, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wegan. They will honor their 70th wedding anniversary with immediate family due to Elsie’s health.

They have two children, Dennis K. Kovener (deceased) from Hanover and Debbie A. Tatlock of Seymour. They also have one granddaughter, Jennifer L. (Larry) Abner of Seymour, and a great-granddaughter, Lydia M. Chandler of Seymour.

Jesse is a self-employed locksmith, Kovener’s Lock and Key, in Seymour for the last 52 years. Previously, he retired from Dunlap and Co. in Columbus after 37 years as project manager.

Elsie is retired from Seymour Community School Corp., where she worked as a cook at Seymour Middle School for 33 years. She previously was a beautician owning her own shop, The Vogue Beauty Salon, in Brownstown in her younger years.

Both are members of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour.
