Edna Marie Wischmeier Kellermeier, age 104 of Seymour, passed away at the Lutheran Community Home on December 30, 2021. She was born April 26, 1917 in Jackson County, IN to George and Elizabeth Aubke Wischmeier. She married Alfred Kellermeier on March 24, 1940 at Sauers Lutheran Church and he preceded her in death on November 12, 1974. She was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother who was dedicated to her family and to her Lord. She worked as a seamstress at Excello Shirt Factory, retiring in 1982 after 33 years of service. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, Lutheran Layman’s League and a former member of the Ladies Aid One, the Seymour Senior Citizens and the Jackson County Craft Club. She volunteered at the Lutheran Community Home for five years. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, crafts of all kinds, playing cards and most of all spending time with her family.

Edna is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her sister, Helen Wehmiller. Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Imogene (Louis) Mensendiek and Dennis (Barb) Kellermeier, her grandchildren, Mark (Debbie) Mensendiek, Michael Mensendiek (Sonya Wilson, friend), Max (Dannette) Mensendiek, Linda (Mark) Smith and Gregory Kellermeier, her great-grandchildren, Sean (Alyssa) Mensendiek, Hannah (Dalton) Thompson, Nathan Mensendiek (Chelsea Certain, friend) and Emma Mensendiek (Jacob Brewer, friend), Anna Mensendiek, Nicholas Mensendiek (Rachel, friend), Noah Mensendiek (Paige, friend), Lilly, Lauren and Broc Smith, and great-great-grandchildren, Maverick, Elaina and Chance Thompson, Jaiden Newland, Raelynn and Sophia Mensendiek, Bennett Mensendiek and Rylee Rimer.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Ralph Blomenberg, Rev. Philip Bloch and Vicar Nick Wagenknecht officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 until 1:00 PM at the church. Interment will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Seymour.

Memorials may be given in Edna’s memory to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Trinity High School or the charity of your choice.
