A Jackson County man wanted on four warrants was arrested along with a North Vernon woman after a traffic stop Tuesday at Country Squire Lakes, police report.

Besides the warrants, Zachary Hamblen, 22, of Vallonia also faces new preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia in connection with the traffic stop, according to a news release from the Jennings County Sheriff’s Department.

Kinnadi Skinner, 19, of North Vernon was arrested on a preliminary charge of driving while suspended with a prior conviction within 10 years.

The incident that led to the pair’s arrest started at about 4:25 p.m. when county Reserve Officer Evan Ponsler reported seeing Hamblen riding in the passenger seat of a vehicle. Ponsler reported he knew Hamblen was wanted in Jennings County on a felony warrant and three misdemeanor warrants.

Ponsler initiated a traffic stop and took Hamblen into custody without incident.

During a tow-in inventory of the vehicle, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and marijuana were found inside it, police said.
