Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb recently appointed Jackson County Assessor Katie Kaufman to serve on the Certification Board of Appeals.

Kaufman, who lives in Seymour, said the board was created with the enactment of House Enrolled Act 1166 in April. HEA 1166 deals with formal taxpayer complaints filed against a township or county assessor or one of their employees or an appraiser.

Members of that board serve at the pleasure of the governor.
