Susan Michelle (Woodard) Wilson, age 64, a native of Seymour, Indiana and a resident of Columbus, Indiana, passed away on Friday, December 17, 2021 at Columbus Regional Hospital. She was born on July, 29, 1957 to Gene Woodard and Shirley (Rust) Woodard of Seymour, Indiana.

Susan graduated from Seymour High School in 1975 and received her Master in Education from Indiana University. She was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church in Columbus Indiana. Her passion for Education and her love for children was reflected in her forty-one years as a Special Education Teacher, retiring in 2021.

Anyone that knew Susan loved her. She was a vivacious, outgoing lady that loved life and loved people. She never met a stranger, loved to make others happy, was always the life of the party and loved talking and getting to know people.

She loved paddle boarding, boating and being on the lake with her family and quickly earned the title of “Captain”. She loved bicycling, hiking and had the goal of hiking every state park in Indiana.

Her family was her priority in everything that she did and she loved and protected them with all that she could.

She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her and each life that she touched in her own special way.

Susan is survived by her parents, her loving husband of over 42 years, James Wilson of Columbus, Indiana, one daughter, Ashley Wilson and her fiance, Charlie Larsen of Scottsdale, Arizona. Two sons, Blake Wilson and his wife Amy of Havertown, Pennsylvania and Cameron Wilson and his significant other, CiCi Kent of Scottsdale, Arizona. One grandson, Everett Wilson and the God Father to her children, Tom Perkins of Bloomington, Indiana.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Woodlawn Family Funeral Centre in Seymour, Indiana. Funeral Services will begin at 2:00 PM in the Woodlawn Chapel with Pastor Jim Hudson officiating. She will be laid to rest at Riverview Cemetery in Seymour, Indiana.

The family requests memorials be directed to Indiana Natural Resources Foundation (Indiana State Parks) in her honor.
