Churches planning two performances of Christmas cantata

The combined choirs of First Baptist Church of Brownstown and Vallonia Christian Church with representation of five other churches plan to present the Christmas cantata “Love Made A Way” two times this holiday season.

The first performance will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Baptist church, and the second will be at 7 p.m. Dec. 19 at the Christian church.

The program in narration and song tells of God’s love in sending his only son to be born in a lowly manger. A duet, “My Son,” featuring Darrin and Tanyka Wan, and a solo, “Look on Him with Love,” by John Spurgeon are part of the cantata. The narrator is Amy Hartley.

Other members of the choir are Anita Sturgeon, Stefanie Linzy, Doreen Bentz, Julia Barry, Mischell Ferguson, Dinah Nikitas, Sherri Sears, Susie Rommel, Lisa Davis, Dottie Seniors, Mary Beth Covert, Mary Lou Grider, Marlyn Meahl, Jim Luttrell, Dick Burrell, Dave Wesner, Larry Covert, Tim Warren and J.D. Hopkins. The choir directors are Lewann Burrell and Sandy Sunderman.

The public is invited to attend this celebration of the true “reason for the season.” A time of fellowship will follow each performance. Pastors are Darrin Wan of the Baptist church and J.D. Hopkins of the Christian church.
