Earl H. Carr, age 93, of Brownstown, passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021, at Hoosier Christian Village, Brownstown.

Earl was a member of Ratcliff Grove Christian Church.

Mr. Carr retired from Cummins Engine Co. after 28 years of employment. He was a U.S. Veteran, serving during the Korean War.

Earl loved spending time with his family, and he loved taking family vacations every summer. He also enjoyed eating out and watching sports.

Born on July 20, 1928, in Scottsburg, Earl was the son of Frank H. and Ebbie Miller Carr, both of whom preceded him in death. On March 14, 1951, in Brownstown, he married Mary Lou Goss and she survives in Brownstown.

Survivors also include one son, Ron (Laverne) Carr of Seymour; one daughter, Carol Sue Mize of Brownstown; one brother, Wilbert (Shirley) Carr of Columbus; one sister, Annie Craig of Scottsburg; four grandchildren: Jon (Nicole) Ray, Jason Ray, Lauren (Andrew) Keller, and Clayton (Mallorie) Carr; and two great-grandchildren: Violet Keller and Jameson Carr.

Besides his parents, Earl was also preceded in death by three brothers: John William Carr, Frank H. Carr, Jr., and Everette E. Carr; and two sisters: Violet Simpson and Mary Lois Wise.

Funeral services for Earl H. Carr will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc.

Military honors will be presented by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled American Veterans 47, and Vietnam Vets 7.

Interment will be at Smallwood Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Ratcliff Grove Christian Church or Hoosier Christian Village Auxiliary.
