Senate accepting applications for pages

The Indiana Senate is now accepting applications for the 2022 Senate page program.

Through the full-day program, students in grades 6 through 12 can tour the Statehouse in Indianapolis, listen to debates and help staff with tasks. Students also have the opportunity to meet with their state senator, according to a news release from the office of District 44 Sen. Eric Koch, R-Bedford.

“The Senate page program is a unique opportunity that allows students to get firsthand experience with how the Indiana General Assembly operates,” Koch said. “It is encouraging to see young Hoosiers at the Statehouse engaging in state government, and I urge any interested students to sign up for this enriching experience.”

The page program begins in January and runs through early March. Positions fill quickly, so apply early. Pages are scheduled on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. during the legislative session. Groups serve together on Wednesdays. Serving as a page is considered an excused absence from school.
