Lions Club members conduct vision screenings

The Seymour Noon, Medora Community and Brownstown Lions Clubs have completed vision screenings for 2021.

The state mandates all students in first, third, fifth and eighth grades have their vision screened.

For several years, the Jackson County Lions Clubs have been providing the required screenings for all public and private schools in the county at no cost to the schools.

This year, more than 30 Lions spent 400-plus hours to provide this cost-free service, and nearly 3,000 students were screened.

The Lions also are providing Kid Sight screenings for kids ages 18 months to 6 years at preschools. This will continue until all requests have been met.

The Seymour Lions also will be at Kids Fest to do screenings for all ages, including homeschooled children.

The Lions are certified by the state to do vision screenings at schools in Indiana.
