Girls Inc. of Jackson County and Jackson County United Way each are receiving a $2,500 grant from Centra Credit Union to further their missions.

These organizations were nominated by Centra team members who feel passionate about the work these groups do in the community, according to a news release from Centra.

“Centra team members are really involved in our communities, and they love being able to support the causes they care about through this program. Nonprofit organizations are valuable assets to our communities, and we’re excited to help them achieve their missions,” said Jenni Carr, community involvement officer for Centra.

A total of 39 organizations have been awarded grants through the program this year. A complete list of organizations receiving grants can be found online at centra.org.

“The valuable work these organizations do for Jackson County help it thrive and grow, ensuring there’s a place for Centra, as well. We’re honored to support these organizations and their missions,” Centra President and Chief Executive Officer Rick Silvers said.

Centra Credit Union is a community-based full-service financial institution with 24 branch locations throughout central and southern Indiana and in Jamestown, New York, and Whitakers, North Carolina. That includes a branch in Seymour at 520 S. Jackson Park Drive.
