The Jackson County Learning Center is partnering with McDowell Education Center for a new evening High School Equivalency diploma class.

The free class will meet from 5 to 8 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays at the learning center, 323 Dupont Drive, Seymour.

Daytime classes will still be available, too. They are from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. or 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

To begin any of the HSE programs, students must take a free pretest as a baseline. For the evening class, registration must be done in person between 6 and 7 p.m. Mondays or Wednesdays. For the daytime class, sign up in person between 10 and 11 a.m. or 2 and 3 p.m.

After registering, students will be given a day and time to come back and take the test.
