The public is invited to the annual bean supper from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Nebo Ridge Church, 8624 Mt. Nebo Road, Columbus.

Beans will be cooked in a cast iron kettle over an open fire. Fried potatoes, cornbread and other food selections will be available, too.

The cost is a freewill donation. Proceeds from the supper will go into the church’s building fund.

Since Saturday is the opening day of firearms hunting season, the church encourages deer hunters to stop by for a hot meal.
