BROWNSTOWN

Carol M. (Engelau) Elkins, age 69, a native of Bartholomew County, Indiana and a resident of Brownstown, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at her sister’s residence in Seymour, Indiana. She was born on August 16, 1952 to the late Herman Engelau and the late Malinda (Schepman) Engelau.

Carol was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church – Borchers in Seymour, Indiana. She will forever be remembered as a fun loving, artistic lady that loved painting and drawing. She enjoyed very much working in her yard and had a special place in her heart for children. Carol loved animals and had many pets. Her love for animals was on display with each stray that she would love and feed.

Carol is survived by her brother, Harold Engelau and his wife Wanda of Bartholomew County, Indiana and one sister, Linda Guinn and her husband Larry of Seymour, Indiana. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Thomas Elkins and one brother, Herman Frederick Engelau.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 13, 2021 from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church – Borchers. Memorial services will begin at 10:30 AM with Pastor Steven Wood officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church – Borchers Pre School.
