Loyal Devoir Society meets at Central Christian

Twelve members of the Loyal Devoir Society at Central Christian Church met Oct. 26 in the fellowship hall at the Seymour church.

President Janice Brock called the meeting to order, and she then gave devotions on pumpkins, fall and the Bible, closing with prayer.

Betty Guinn gave the treasurer’s report and the read thank-you notes.

Brock then thanked everyone who helped with the sorority meal.

It was decided to give to Hoosier Christian Village, Mental Health America of Jackson County and the Sertoma Club of Jackson County for Christmas.

There will be no November meeting. The Christmas dinner will be at 6 p.m. Dec. 7 at Larrison’s Diner. The deadline for reservations for members, spouses and church personnel is Nov. 30.

Officer will remain the same for 2022 after a motion made by Paula Stafford and seconded by Lucy Dembek passed.

Members will contribute three dozen cookies for teachers at Cortland, Emerson and Seymour-Redding elementary schools on Dec. 9 to go in a brown bag lunch.

Barb Bentley’s Group 1 served refreshments, and the meeting closed with the Mizpah Benediction.
