Jackson County Community Theatre soon will have auditions for its 2022 dinner theater, “Schoolhouse Rock Live!”

They are set for 2 p.m. Nov. 6 and 7 with possible callbacks at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 8 at Royal Off-the-Square Theatre, 121 W. Walnut St., Brownstown.

Cast requirements are three men and three women ages 18 and up. Additional characters may be added as chorus.

Actors should prepare a monologue and a song that are in the same style of the show. Those interested in auditioning should read and complete the audition packet prior to trying out. Those unable to attend auditions should email Director Paul Keller at [email protected] to arrange a video audition.

The show will be presented at 6 p.m. Feb. 18, 19, 25 and 26 and 2:30 p.m. Feb. 20 at The Pines Evergreen Room south of Seymour.

“Schoolhouse Rock” was an Emmy Award-winning 1970s Saturday morning cartoon series that taught history, grammar, math and more through clever, tuneful songs.

“Schoolhouse Rock Live!” follows Tom, a nervous schoolteacher about to start his first day of teaching. He tries to relax with a little television when various characters representing facets of his personality materialize from the TV set. Tom is hesitant at first to accept their help, but with a little friendly prodding, they help Tom see how great a teacher he has been all along.

Georgiann Coons will be music director for the JCCT production, while Larry Hartley is assistant director, Katrina Hardwick is choreographer, Jordan McKinley is production manager, Megan Keller will handle costumes, Elyse McGill will man the lights, Paul Keller and Larry Hartley will handle sound, Paul Keller and Joel McGill will build the set, Matt Nieman will lead artistic design and Erin Newby will help with the house.

Tickets for the show will be available online at tktassist.com/Tix/?u=JCCT starting Jan. 9.
