Community Church of Brownstown and New Life Missionary Baptist Church are reaching out to the community for support and donations to serve a free Thanksgiving meal.

On Nov. 24, they plan to serve turkey, mashed potatoes with gravy, stuffing, green beans, bread and dessert. Anyone interested in donating food or money toward the meal may call Missy Collins at 812-528-1189.

The deadline for food donations is Nov. 19.

“We know the times we are facing today can be a bit challenging. The talk of shortages around the holidays can bring on stress and worry,” Collins said in a Facebook post. “We hope together through God’s work and love, we can bring a warm meal with a recurrence of faith and goodwill to all.”
