The Jackson County Health Department will start providing Moderna, Johnson and Johnson (Janssen) and Pfizer COVID-19 booster doses at its regularly scheduled clinics from 1 to 4:50 p.m. Tuesdays in November.
Primary series doses also will continue to be provided. All vaccines will be administered at the health department, 801 W. Second St., Seymour.
For individuals who received a Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, the following groups are eligible for a booster shot at six months or more after their initial series:
- 65 and older
- 18 and older who live in a long-term care setting
- 18 and older who have underlying medical conditions
- 18 and older who work or live in high-risk settings
For individuals who received a Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 vaccine two or more months ago and is 18 or older, it is recommended to get a booster dose.
Appointments are necessary and may be scheduled at ourshot.in.gov. No walk-ins will be accommodated.
Some commercial pharmacies also are offering vaccines. CVS has Moderna, and Walgreens has Pfizer.
